Voice Actor
John Bender
closed
Unpaid
cast offsite

Voice Type: Moderate to Moderately Low, Teenage, Brash, Energetic, Crass but has a softer side

Bio: Known Bad Boy and Troublemaker at Shermer High who is known for frequently taunting and harassing people. Some would find Bender's antics amusing and charismatic while many others would find him to be exceedingly obnoxious. Bender is well known for his foul mouth and frequent complete disregard of authority (in which he frequently butts heads with those such as Principal Vernon and Andy). However he also comes from a highly abusive household in which he understandably has a few issues about.

In this version Bender seems to be considerably nicer than in the original film but is that true? Well yes and no while he is certainly nicer to Allison and to a lesser extent Brian, his behavior towards Andy and Claire is even worse later on in the story. Though on a lighter note anyone who gets this role will be getting to showcase their vocal range a bit as he does some impressions such as The Joker, Riff-Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Bender from Futurama and more. (Not too mentioning occasionally doing accents such as Posh British and Austrian. Ah yes and one last thing while he does have a few lines in Japanese he has one line in French as well. While I do encourage people to audition for Bender's speaking and singing voice but if you prefer to audition for just his speaking voice I will be okay with that.)

  • 1. (Gleefully taunting Andy) Oh isnt that adorable? The macho smug jock knows how to say homophobic slurs how utterly unexpected.

    2. (Impression of Batman's Joker) Oh that is so right Harley, it is such a shame we werent able to bring our Hyenas they would so liven up this place.

  • 3. (Angry, Bitterly Sarcastic) Hey how about we go back to me huh? Since we have such a loving healthy relationship here right?

    4. (Friendly and Casual in Japanese) A hai arison-chan, kyo wa tashika ni kono yona yoi tsuitachidearu. Sono Kurea-chan ga tekisetsuna shokuji o ****e inai koto wa zan'nen. (Oh yes Allison chan, today is such a nice day indeed. Its too bad that Claire chan is not having a proper meal.)

  • 5. (Slightly over-the-top Introduction) No and no *ahem* Lady and Gentlemen may I re-introduce you to my ever so lovely assistant, Allison Reynolds, Kleptomaniac Extraordinaire!

    6. (Calm & Caring, though strained since he is injured) Listen to me; this is not your fault. You are not a freak and you do not deserve this. Dont you dare let anyone else tell you otherwise okay?

I decided not to go with the cockney, I tried to go Judd Nelson. The Japanese was hard to do, but definitely fun to practice. Let me know what you think!

First of all sorry that I am so late in giving a reply (my little sister graduated from High School yesterday) Anyways... + Voice was rather good, and your attempt at the Japanese was actually pretty decent. (At least you didn't sound overly forced and strained). And I particularly liked your delivery on Line 1. - The delivery on your lines are not bad but a bit inconsistent as your take on Line 5 could use a bit more energy and your voice didn't sound strained enough for Line 6. Still this was a pretty good audition nevertheless.

Hey thanks, I understand the graduation stuff, i just graduated myself. Anyway, it has been a bit, and unfortunately my microphone has broken! It was a Blue Yeti microphone, $100 and the USB port snapped from the motherboard. So I'm sorry man, but thanks for taking a look at the audition! The Japanese was only intelligible because I watch so much anime XD. I re-listened to the audition and I totally agree with the notes, Now that I understand what you're asking for, I'd give it another go, but you know. Thanks very much for the appraisal! I should have another mic by around August, but I have to save up. But if you have any projects by then, keep me in mind!
