Megami Ibunroku Persona [Comic Dub]
LukeWheelerVox for Hidehiko "Brown" Uesugi
Brown is the resident class clown of St. Hermelin High, known for his large ego, high confidence and over-friendliness. His style of humour tends to be among the dumb puns and dad joke type, something that frequently gets him attention which he relishes in. He tends to be somewhat self-centred, be it a facade or not, self appointing himself as a leader and acting like he's somewhat of a big deal. The core of Brown's character stems from his nickname, which doesn't originate from his hair colour, but rather due to an incident from his childhood that involved him crapping his pants. Being made the butt of everyone's joke for so long, he decided to own it and spin it in his favour, making himself seem cooler by presenting himself as a joke.
In the game, he's voiced by Keith Silverstein, who gives him an overconfident, slightly over the top delivery. His voice is mid-to-low range.
KNOW WHY YOU CAN'T HEAR A PSYCHIATRIST IN THE BATHROOM?? CUZ THE 'P' IS SILENT!!!
Brown and the party are ambushed by a pack of demons. In order to ward them off, Brown musters all of his energy, and rather than fight, he starts shouting this gag with all of the conviction and power he has, as if he's telling the most powerful, funniest joke ever told and needs the delivery to be perfect.Forget that guy! What about good ol' me? I'm fun! 'Sides, that guy's definitely a coward deep down, y'know? His heart's dead-scared, so he just talks big to fool us!
Mysterious student Reiji Kido causes a scene in the cafeteria while tensions were already high, and some of the girls start whispering to themselves, some even somewhat charmed by his "bad boy" attitude. Deciding to take over the situation, Brown puts his hand over one of them and tries to break the ice, and tries to confidently and smoothly calm down the situation, while also subconsciously projecting his own insecurities on other people. That guy's a straight-A student, never late to class and always goes home soon as the last bell hits. Top of that, his luck's through the roof. Sure, your great Brown's luck stat is also pretty high, but... I dunno, I can't find much reason to hang out with the guy since he's so damn quiet...
Brown shares his honest thoughts about Naoya while talking to Maki, not really putting on his usual over comical Persona and talking a lot more seriously and contemplative. He feels genuinely puzzled a guy like Naoya can be so accomplished and get as much attention as he does, be it due to jealously or just being put off by his silent attitude. He's not really mad, just unsure.
