Mark is a brash student and frequent troublemaker, that despite his fits of rudeness, carries around a good casual attitude with him. He aims to be a graffiti artist, taking pride in his designs and spray work, though has had frequent run-ins with the cops. He's called "Mark" due to his overprotective mother coining the term "Makkun" for him, something he saw as demeaning and childish, so he spun it around to make it seem more cool and foreign. He has frequent bouts with Kei, due to his lower intellect and tendency to react primarily upon his emotions. While appearing cool and fun on the surface, he has a softer, more intimate side he lets out when he's near his crush, Maki Sonomura.
In the game, he's voiced by Sam Riegel, who gives him a playful, excited attitude. He has a mid-to-high voice range.

After too much suspense and the rest of group taking his opponent's side, Mark managed to win a bet against Brown, and feels incredibly excited and rewarded over his guaranteed free All-You-Can-Eat meal, definitely rubbing it into Brown's face.All cuz ya had to flex your brain waves on us, that Chinese Lit. dude gave us a whole darn assignment! How far does the stick up your ass go, man?
Mark is very fed up with Nanjo's bullshit, and his tendency to put himself on a pedestal at the expense of others. While doing his work, he casually lets his stress out on Nanjo directly, in a more annoyed tone than straight-up angry....I don't care if she's some engineer... Maki says she's never even around... Always "work", "work", "work"...
Mark cares a lot for Maki, and feels bad that she has to be in the situation she's in. He knows why, but the facts still depress him. He says this less in his usual angry, brash behaviour and more in a soft, sad mopey tone.
