Hi there, sorry for not getting in touch earlier. I was busy making the first book with the first 2 actors that the clients casted. Now they will decide whether to sign the contract for the next batch of 50 books that we need to finish by 1. October this year. I just sent them your audition, since you were shortlisted and is up to them to decide who will be casted. They will surely need to cast more than a few actors, so please standby, for you will be most likely casted. I am just writing to double check with you if you are still interested and available to take part in this project. And also to double check if you understand the working conditions which are as following : One book will have two actors, one male and one female. One actor (based on the book) will do the narrating of the book and also voice acting for all the different roles of same sex. Second actor will, obviously, do just the voice acting for all the roles of the opposite sex. Books are to be usually around 50-60k words, which means roughly 7 hours of finished material. The fee for the voice acting (including both actors) is roughly around 500usd, which translates to some 70usd per recorded hour. The total sum will be split according to the total time of recorded material per actor - which does mean that the narrator will get far more than the supporting opposite sex actor, but, with a significantly more workload (in this first book I just finished, the male actor merely recorded one hour total of all the male roles, and the girl did the rest). Also it's important to understand that they expect us to finish one book in 10 days cycle, but split into 25 minute episodes. So far, my workflow is based around doing 2 episodes per day at least, which is around 50min of recorded material daily. If you are able to do more, even better. In this way, we will have plenty of time to finish the book (should take us around 7 days non-stop delivering 2 episodes daily) and still have overhead of 2-3 days to do some quality check and correcting the errors if needed. This project will be ongoing non-stop so we could finish the given amount of 50 books on time. So please make sure that if you agree to these conditions, you are available to commit for this period of time. If everything goes well, I expect even stronger contract with the clients after the October deadline (since they acquired the rights to literally thousands of books), so this might be a good long term stable gig. I also hope (and I will push for it) for the budget to be increased after this first batch. Actors are expected to record themselves, as clean as possible, in a acousticly dead room, to comply with additional suggestions from engineers, and be able to do basic editing of their own - just cutting out the wrong lines and mistakes. The polishing and further processing of the audio will be done by our engineers. About the payment methods and dynamics , it will be discussed case based, either personal account (money is coming from a Chinese-based company), or paypal, or your own company account. I still need to figure this out precisely with accountants and the client. The books are usually some cheapish pulp cheesy romantic bs, for teenagers or adults, not particularly spicy but not for under-aged either.
