Kendo Team Captain

Whether channeling your inner Kyouichi Saiyonji or your Tatewaki Kuno. A strong performance here highlighting the social culture around this character and how they handle it is key to conveying this character!

  • Haha! I thought you'd have recognized me outside of school! It's alright though! No sweat off my back! (chuckling)

  • Ah, well, actually, I've already got a date tonight! As tempting of an offer as it is, I must decline. Perhaps a rain check?

  • Listen, I need you to be very quiet when you are sneaking through the house. If she finds out we planned this, she'll freak!

Hey Heetseekin! Thanks for auditioning! The judges really liked your audition! They thought it would be a perfect opportunity to point out some issues that many other VA's may be struggling with. So here we go! The first is your speed! The judges believe that you may have been nervous. Additionally, you could hear the tenseness in your voice! specifically in the back of your voice. Always take some time before your audition to relax, and find a groove for yourself to be in while you prepare and record! With nerves and tenseness working against you, those two things alone can create a ton of unfortunate things to happen. One result, was the speed at which you read the line! It was quite fast and only contributed to the likelihood that your nerves or "excitement" (anxiety in some cases) we getting in between you and what you wanted to do and go for. These things all show up no matter how small on the mic! Take a second for yourself and breathe, or really get into the character. Don't overwork yourself up, but don't hold it all back either! Get comfortable with the lines, and most importantly let your body relax! Do some breathing exercises, not just for relaxation, but also warmups to relax your throat (etc.)! Keep up the hard work and people will help you more and more along your journey! Thank you again for your audition Heatseekin!
