Clay is a character from the canon series,  however thirty years have passed since the original series. Anything that happens throughout the remainder of the new books has no baring on this series. 

  • Clay: (interrupting) What Tsunami is trying to say is; we aren’t trying to be discriminatory, I promise, we have plenty of students from Pantala, but we’re just asking that you understand our situation. We have an obligation here: to make sure that all of our students feel safe and are safe, and well, I don’t know how we are supposed to be sure that he is in case of an emergency.

  • Clay: (defensive) Peril sleeps in a separate cave. She helps keep the students safe. No dragon is at risk from her.

  • Clay: (solemn) He’d be proud of what you just did.
