Oliver Davis is a co-worker of Meg (protagonist) at the local donut shop in Nowhere, IN. Never too interested in her side projects, he finds himself coming to her with story about the recent bout of sleep paralysis he's been experiencing... Tends to be exhausted and patient with people, though otherwise he acts rushed. (Featured narrator in one episode)
You really don’t have to make that much of it. I’ve read about sleep paralysis – I understand that what I’m seeing isn’t going to hurt me. (A sigh and a change of perspective) Have to say, the first night it happened I nearly shit myself.
It’s always a man – the same man – standing in my room. He’s middle aged, a bit shabby looking… and stands with a hunch, shaking, never looking directly at me. And I can’t move my arms or legs but my eyes are open and I have to watch as blood pours out of his eyes, his ears, his nose, and his mouth.
(Extremely dehydrated and sleep-deprived) I lied. I’m sorry, I lied to you. I don’t even know if you can help me, but you’re the only one who I’ve told about that man and now… I think I might die, Meg.
