  • The Birdfolk of Muural were the first to venerate him - the first to give him life. Icarus was born from their regard of the sun, and the light it brought across the land. Even though it’s heat brought death to those who dwelled in it too long, the citizens of Muural understood the sun’s importance in maintaining life across the land, and for that they held great respect.

  • In return for their fealty to him, Icarus granted the villagers a great kindness; respite from the brutal desert sun by directing the sun’s heat away from their town, in turn causing a cool, lush oasis to form.

  • Something drew him to it. It’s radiance and power attracted him like a moth to a flame. He wanted to harness its strength and make it his own. He wanted to revel in its heat and let its fire consume him. And, ultimately, that is what came to be.
