Book #1 Audio
Mel Valentine for Kamela
Kamela (Kah-MEL-ah) is in her mid 20s. She works in Colonial Williamsburg as an interpreter (actor). In this story, she is kidnapped by the antagonist, Darius, along with her boyfriend, James. Throughout the story, we learn about what she and James must suffer through and their journey of survival.
Kamela is a tough young woman. Her older brother was in the military, and when he came back from his tour overseas, he was really messed up (having nightmares and getting physical with Kamela) and she was in 11th grade at the time....so she was forced to grow up quickly.
Her mother left her father when she was a young teen, and so she's had to deal with that as well.
She's fiery. She's a sweet, loving creature...but cross her or hurt someone close to her, and she'll snap back at you.
Antagonist is attacking her. She cries out for help.
Help! Help me, please.
Antagonist slaps her. She cries in a softer tone and continues her plea.Please...d-don’t do this.
Antagonist pants dropped to his ankles, followed by his underwear. Kamela closed her eyes and took a deep breath, through her mouth, to keep herself from gagging. Darius put a hand on his hip, waiting for her to begin.
"I am not putting your dick in my mouth. That’s a promise."
Antagonist grabbed his gun and put it to her forehead. Tears welled in Kamela’s eyes.
“I won’t do it,” she whispered.Kamela threatens the antagonist
"Darius, if you lay a hand on him, so help me-”
Good - I hear the slight shakiness in your voice really portraying the fear that Kamela is feeling. I think you're tone in this recording is a bit too high pitched for Kamela. (And I'm super new to this as a "director" so if my feedback isn't clear, I apologize.) She's more of a tomboy than most girls (I will add that to the character notes.) Her brother was in the military, she was raised primarily by her father..so she's really picked up and developed a rooted voice. Feel free to re-audition with these thoughts in mind.
