Reilly's Ghost is his constant companion throughout his struggles. They* are slowly dying to a powerful parasite that drains their life force,  but in contrast to Reilly's agonised desperation, his Ghost is calm and accepting of their fate, frequently urging Reilly to make peace with it. They speak with a soft, calming voice.

*I have written this role to accommodate a male or female voice actor, hence the inclusive pronoun use here.
