Nightcall Radio: A One-Shot Audio Drama
KalBroVa for Frank Aspen
Frank Aspen is the protagonist of "Nightcall Radio". The host of a radio show of the same name, Frank is a mild-mannered individual who has grown to be indifferent about pretty much everything due to his show. Frank doesn't believe much of what he hears from his callers, which leads to him joking about pretty much everything they say to him, which has built his reputation as both a relatable figure and an ass to most of those who listen to him.
Some details about Frank:
- He is intended to be in his late 20's/early 30's
- He has a "radio voice"; his voice is very calm and easy to listen to.
- Due to his long time running his show, he's mostly unfazed and uninterested in the calls he receives. However, he should address his listeners with more interest and depth.
Hello, listeners. You're listening to Nightcall Radio, the best show on the air for people who are still up at this hour instead of getting their beauty rest. I'm your host, Frank Aspen, and quite frankly, I can't wait for your calls to start coming in.
Most of the calls I get are people who are drunk, just got cheated on, or both. Quite honestly, I don't get why you all call me. You should be calling your therapist (chuckles) I'm kidding, I'm kidding. But seriously, keep the calls coming in. I've got a feeling the next one'll be a good one.
Look, buddy, the prank was funny at first... well, no, it really wasn't. So tell your girlfriend she can take out the ball gag, or the sock, or whatever she's gagging on because I'm not buying your story.
So, good voice and audio quality, so that's a plus. My main issue is that it's a bit too dead, emotion wise. Frank cares very little about the people who call in, but when addressing his listeners he should have more depth to his voice. I think if you can balance that out a bit, you'd have a solid audition!
Oh, gotcha. Reading the description I thought he was just tired of all the callers shit. I’ll try another audition when I get the time.
