Final Fantasy IX Full Game Dub Casting Call
Geiji for Zidane
The main character of the game. Zidane is a thief from the Tantalus troupe. He is quite the flirt and loves to show off, but is ultimately a well-meaning, kindhearted individual. He helps others just for the sake of helping others, and prefers to take on burdens all on his own. For his voice, we are looking for someone that can pull of his cocky, flirtatious attitude, but also knows when to take things seriously and let the emotional moments land. We would prefer a higher pitch for his voice. Youthful, though not child-like. Think Justin Briner or Robbie Daymond.
"Hey, you're a great mage with great powers, alright? To hell with looks. It's what's inside that counts."
(Zidane is trying to encourage Vivi after a dangerous encounter with the local wildlife of Evil Forest.)
"Come on, Princess. Let's ditch Sir Rustalot and get outta here!"
(Zidane and Princess Garnet are trying to escape the castle and are halted by Steiner, Captain of the Knights of Pluto.)
"In the end, it boils down to two simple choices. Either you do or you don't. You'd think with all the problems in this world, there'd be more answers. It's not fair... but that's the way things are. The choice is yours."
(When Vivi tries to explain to Zidane his fears about who he is and what's to come, Zidane does his best to comfort Vivi.)
I will say you have some pretty good instincts when it comes to the performance, especially your 3rd line... but there's a big problem with your audio itself: it peaks every second or so, there's this slighlty annoying buzzing in the back, and I can hear when you click with the mouse, which does get distracting. This may seem a bit harsh, but these are all little details that can kill an audition if not taken care of. My advice would be to try and get a better treatment for your room sound (even just covering yourself under a blanket in your closet does wonders).
Thanks for the advice currently i can't do anything about the buzzing its my usb mic i am planning to upgrade to an XLR hopefully that will put an end to the buzzing. The clicking i forgot to edit that out sorry about that i feel stupid over looking that detail because i took care of it on all my other auditions no idea why it slipped my mind this time and the blanket is a good idea my room is pretty open and my work station is over tile so reverb is a constant problem. About the harshness so long as it is constructive criticism the harsher the better. You have a good voice for Zidane and your audio quality is good do you have advice on a mic to get for myself? I will resubmit my audition and try to remedy as many of these things as i can thanks again.
