Morgan Jones is a main character first encountered in Issue 1 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead as well as the protagonist of the Morgan Special. He and his son Duane are the first people met by Rick post-outbreak, while also being responsible for filling him in the details how to survive in the new world. Morgan and Duane hid in various houses in the Cynthiana area, attempting to ride out the apocalypse. They stay behind as Rick leaves to find his wife and son. Months later, after losing his son to the undead, a broken Morgan joins the group, while trying to cope over his losses.

Time Commitment: 7 Months (7 Volumes)
Morgan is going to be a challenging character. He start out sane, but the next time Rick sees him after volume 1, he's really gone off the deep end.
Morgan COULD have a southern accent, but don't let this limit your vocal choices at all.
"So, you're a cop, huh? I figured you for a hunter, after you said you got shot and all. You being a cop... you don't mind my boy and I taking residence in your neighbors' place do you? It's not like we're stealing the place... your neighborhood just seemed safer. We don't figure that we're hurting anybody by staying there... and in my book that makes it okay."

"It's all still here--nobody's been in this place for a year. A year... A year ago. We were just here a year ago. So much has happened-- so much... So much! So much! So much!"
- Morgan said (fervently & crazily) while banging his head against a wall.
"You're a good boy. Don't let anyone take that away from you -- Don't ever let yourself think differently. You care about people. That's easy to lose... caring about people. We get so focused on what we need... we stop caring about other people. Maybe it's what we have to do to get by... but it takes away a piece of your soul... every time. I-- I know-- the things I've done... You're eight years old. You're quickly hitting the age where you start to become the person you're going to be. These are important times, son. You just don't know how much it hurts me to think about the things this world is going to deny you. Are you listening to me? (...) Your innocence... That's lost. Gone, just-- School... What you learn from it... What you really learn from it. Not the nonsense in the book... How the world works. How people interact... Life stuff. You need that stuff. It's important. I don't know how you'll be here on your own without me. No one to talk to... And after I'm gone... You're going to have to be strong, Duane."
