I’m new to the CCC I’m still figuring this place and myself out. So until I do here is what I’m putting here.
Who am I?
_Insert your name here_. My name is not important but you can call me Lucy. I’m from the US and was raised on the west cost. I’ve been singing my entire life. I use to be a bit of an impressionist at a very tender age but stopped due to the constant requests of ‘do that thing!’ from my family. It felt more like i was being made fun. This coupled with other issues left me SEVERELY Shy. So if i seem nervous, it’s because I am.
What do you know?
Nothing. I’ve never done anything in any form that can be called ‘professional’. The closest to any actual vocal education I could claim is the fact my elementary school had ‘Music class’ which consisted of an entire room of 4th graders trying to sing various songs in some type of ‘tune’. This same school had a choir that I joined (4th-7th grade) and while I can’t say I was technical (I didn’t know why I stood where my teacher said ‘stand here’) but what I can say is I could sing. I could sing well enough that when I didn’t join the choir I got an earful from the teacher telling me “You’re wasting so much talent”.
Have you done anything?
Sorta? Not really... I sang a few times publicly years later after choir. Simply put a few times at karaoke, I sing when I’m shopping, or stressed out. I’ve been stopped a few times by strangers asking why I’ve stopped. When I sing in stores. I’m told by friends I’m good at ‘doing voices’.
Why are you doing this?
I’m a dreamer. It’s something I’ve considered for a long time but never looked into. It’s something I felt I never had the chance or that I simply ‘wasn’t good enough’. It may be slightly depressing but I feel like i act everyday of my life so why not try to do something with it?
