The Walking Dead: Comic Dub

Carl Grimes is the deuteragonist first encountered in Issue 2 of Image Comics' The Walking Dead. He is the son of Rick and Lori and the brother or half-brother of Judith Grimes. He joined Shane with Lori to travel to Atlanta, for the refugee camp. As time goes on, Carl slowly becomes hardened, due to the severe loss of life of the loved ones around him. He has also had to adapt to the new world which Rick was reluctant for him to do, but has done so with as much brutality and animosity as him.
Personality wise, Carl is described as vindictive, blunt, stubborn, and habituated. At the beginning of the series, Carl was a normal 9-year-old kid, playing with dirt and things alike. After losing his mother and little sister at the prison, he turns into a battle-hardened child soldier, fully aware of the dangers of the new world.

Time Commitment: 2 Years, 8 Months (32 Volumes)
Another GIGANTIC role. Gender doesn't matter. Carl grows older, so you must be able to do a convincing 9 year old all the way up to 14 year old. If you can't and are still a great fit for the role, another actor will just step in when the time comes.
Carl COULD have a southern accent, but don't let this limit your vocal choices at all.
"I don't think I need you anymore. I was scared at first when you got sick-- but now, I'm not. I'm not scared at all. I don't need you to protect me anymore. I'm strong... I've grown up, I think, a lot. I'm not an adult yet, but close. Close enough. I don't think you can protect me anymore anyway... You couldn't... you... You couldn't protect Mom or Judy! Or Alice! Or Allen! Or Tyreese! Or Donna! Or anyone! You can't protect anyone!"

"I shot a man in the neck. I didn't like him much. I didn't like how he acted around my mom. But he was nice to me... Most of the time. Then he went crazy -- was going to kill my dad... so I shot him. I saw him bleeding to death. He was scared. Not as scared as I was... I think about it sometimes. It used to make me sad -- But now I'm glad I shot him."

"He sacrificed so much to create a world where we can say goodbye... Andrea... she got to say goodbye to everyone. But he... he's just gone. What was it all for? Everything is better now... safer... the whole world... is different. Because of him. He survived... so much. But now? Now he dies?! Oh, god... I can't go on without him. I can't do this... not anymore."
