Even though he looks like a teenager he is actually an 85 year old man. That is because he and his twin sister Eden were genetically modified while in their mothers womb. Their mother died during childbirth and their father died when they were younger so only had each other. Because Eden aged even slower than him, Eli saw himself as her older brother and tried to look after her. To that end he dedicated his life to learning magic.
