Hi and thanks for auditioning! I'd like you to browse through the comments I've left on other people's auditions and look for notes regarding the following: SENSE OF EMPATHY, and HITTING THE "IS" TOO HARD in the first audition line --- ENERGY LEVEL and NARRATIVE DEVICE OF EH of audition lines 2 and 3. Those comments also apply to you and I think you'd greatly benefit from them. ----- As for the audio itself, I would back off from the mic just a tad bit - you're a bit too close here. From what I can see and hear, I'm getting the feeling that you've normalized to a certain value, then used a limiter - which is fine! But I think you've normalized to a much higher point (than necessary) and cut off too much of the fidelity of your audio. For character work, GENERALLY SPEAKING, try to normalize to around -20dbs RMS and hard limit (if needed) at -3 dbs. That would be a good starting place for you. My apologies for not writing them here - we're getting close to the end of the audition window and I'm having trouble keeping up with the feedbacks! (a happy problem, I know). Sorry about that!
Wow, thanks for the information. I'll be sure to work on all of this to make sure my audio is nice and crisp, as well as work on my takes of the lines themselves. I'll fix these problems asap and re-audition, even if I'm nowhere near good enough I'm always happy to try just for the experience. ^_^
