Hi and thanks for auditioning! 1. Nicely done! Your voice sits right where it would for a character like this, and you knowing that and jumping in is probably a good sign. :) ——— 2. Your audition took 12 seconds. This means you probably have room for 18 more seconds before the casting director gets disinterested. Your job as a voice actor is to fill the first 3 seconds with something AWESOME that makes the casting director continue to want to listen. You do this by putting your best take in the beginning, then throwing in one or two more takes that are CONTEXTUALLY DIFFERENT from the first one. All this is to say that you should include at least two takes of each line - especially for a short audition piece like this one. If the audition itself is asking for a 3-minute long worth of lines, then do NOT do multiple takes, of course. —— 3. I could use more energy on the 2nd audition line. The “EH?!” is a narrative device often used by anime and manga and watching more anime while actively observing would be of much help to you, as it would give you a crystal-clear context of what the director is *specifically* looking for. Bring the energy from the 3rd audition line into the 2nd, and bump it up 20% more - then I think you’ll be there. —— 4. On the same boat, the 3rd audition line could use more energy. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the level of energy in that delivery around a 7. You could go 3 more above - and you need to. All directors will agree on this - it’s easier to bring a voice actor’s level DOWN than trying to bring them UP. Show them that you’re at 10 - so that they know that they can dial you in a the 7.3966 that they’re looking for. —— I hope this is helpful to you. Good luck!
