(Concerned, carefully giving advice to his superior)
Ahh. Well, she IS a high school girl, after all. She's in her puberty, so I'm sure it's difficult for you.(quick burst response)
EH!? BUT *YOU* SAID IT YOURSELF, CHIEF!(quick burst response - would like to hear the slight difference in intensity between the two sentences)
ARE YOU A LITTLE GIRL?! Your daughter complex is way too much!!
Hi and thanks for auditioning! Since you requested, here’s some feedback. 1. First and foremost, you’ve got the acting part - that’s good! You’d be surprised at how many people are not able to fearlessly emote on mic. Thanks for being able to “let go”. —— 2. With that said, I can tell that you did not click the link to see the manga because the context of “Ahh.” is not quite right. What you recorded is an “ahh” of uncertainty. The “ahh” in the manga is of understanding and empathy - like saying “oh, I see.” or “oh, I understand.” Before you start recording your lines, you must know what you’re saying, who you’re saying it to, and why you’re saying it. That small bit of information often times will be the difference between booking the job or not. If the material is given to you before auditioning, it’s in your best interest to analyze the script - show the director that you took the time to understand the context. It’ll only put you in a better light and make you stand out above the crowd. ——— 3. I love your accent. As an accented-English-speaking person myself, I know the struggle of having an accent. However, do not ever think that it’s a crutch. It’s not a crutch - it’s a weapon. It’s what makes you special. There are not many voice actors out there that can do what you naturally do. You’ll get to charge more for your voice as you improve - I get to charge my clients more for my voice ;) —— 4. Your level is too low. Adjust your gain so that the highest peaks are hitting just above -6dbs for every audition line. So in this instance, you should have set different levels for audition lines 1, and then 2 and 3. —— I hope these comments are helpful to you! Good luck! :)
Hello, and thank you for so much feedback! 1 - I definitely tried different ways to act and I chose the ones that seemed fitting for what you wanted and what the Officer Worker would be like. 2 - I will admit that not reading the manga was my greatest pitfall, but you've given me more insight on doing research first before actually acting the role, big thanks for that! I'll be sure to keep that in mind for my future endeavors. 3 - My accent sometimes bugs me in that I can't say English words "properly", but saying that it I should use it like a weapon is something I never thought about, so I appreciate the compliment and the advice! 4 - I recently received my pre-amp a few days ago and I'm messing around with the gain knob, but knowing that high peaks should be -6dbs was something I was not entirely aware of! Rarely do I ever get such diverse feedback from others, so I'm very much thankful for you and I'm so glad I auditioned. Good luck to you and your project as well, and I hope to see it flourish!
