Hi Lissette! Thanks for auditioning. Since you requested, here’s some feedback. 1. Regarding the first audition lines, I’m not quite hearing the “trying to hold back the emotion” aspect of the delivery. It’s apparent that you are a brave soul and don’t mind acting on mic, but I’d really like to hear the ‘overly infatuated, but can’t let it surface’ aspect of those words. —— 2. In addition, your delivery sounds rehearsed… a bit too rehearsed. It sounds like acting. Which is fine - it’s called voice acting, after all - but my note would be to use YOU (you - Lissette, not a character that you play) to voice these. I’m sure you’re not suffering from father-con (maybe you are, and that’s ok, too) but I need to believe that you do like your dad and that him saying things like “whoopsies” is unbelievably cute to you. ------- 3. Analyze the context a bit more. If you take a look at the manga (I included the link so that actors can see the context), this line is delivered as a thought in her mind, in a nervous and slightly shocked state. To me, I’d expect a quick-paced delivery - like a flash of lightning that goes through your brain - as a response to your dad’s mannerisms. Does that make sense? This also applies to the 2nd audition line. —— 4. There are three separate directions for the three lines: nervous and holding back the emotion, that emotion bursting and being unable to hold it back, and a pensive determination. These three different directions need three different deliveries. Your audition felt mono-emotional - there wasn’t much change throughout it. Whenever you audition, you want to showcase your acting as well as your RANGE - that you’re capable of delivering various emotions, contexts, and subtleties of human interaction. Whenever you see specific direction in auditions, I’d try to cater and deliver what’s being asked as best as possible. ——— I hope these comments are helpful to you. Good luck! :)
