Baritone

Savage is the assistant headmaster, soon to become headmaster in the new semester of school. He is obsessed with order, righteousness, cleanliness, and discipline. He becomes irate when things don't go his way, and yells at students at the drop of a hat. Actor MUSt have excellent character range, and be willing to display insanity through their voice.

Please note that while Posh English is the desired accent, ANY UK accent will be acceptable.

  • Sing something musical theatre style. Savage's voice is a character voice. Think the Duke of Wesselton, or Nathan Lane. Quirky, odd, and easily able to become manic. Doesn't necessarily have to be the best singer as long as they can hold a tune

  • MISS NORTH! Drop the homeless story. It’s not ‘The Times’,  it’s a school blog. The council sets our budgets, we play nice, hopefully get new computers. Come January, this school, the students, and the blog are mine. Oh, and as I’ve told you before-

    (He extends a menacing palm)

Park your vehicle on school property, and it becomes school property. Give.

Your audition is awesome, and it was a really really tough choice. In the end, it came down to a slightly older sounding voice, to differentiate him further from the kids. Your auditon was amazing, theres NOTHING I would have changed, and I really, really hope we can work together in the future!! If youre interested in some of the minor character roles on this, please message me to let me know

Thank you for your feedback. I'd almost forgotten all about this audition. I may be interested - but I'd just like a bit of clarification. This is a play that takes place in Scotland. But a lot of the audition guidelines advise on an "English" accent, and some even state 'ANY UK accent is acceptable'. I haven't seen a production of this play before, but is it important that we go all Caledonian for this? There's a few minor characters who have my eye right now and I'm just trying to think - how many Scottish rap artists are there/what would a Scottish heartthrob/jerk even sound like?

The setting is a school in Scotland, but the characters come from all over the UK, which is why any UK accent is acceptable. Lisa and John are from the town, but the rest of them could, conceivably, be from anywhere within the UK and have just moved there at some point in their lives. As far as Tibbsy goes, he's a bit of a pompous idiot. If youre familiar with Hamilton, think Jefferson but Scottish/English lol TIbbsy, Chris, and Nick are all open, if youd like to submit for those as well.
