Picard Mossaine is one of the American Refugees who survived the nuclear apocalypse that engulfed the United States. He is one of the founding fathers of the United States of Africa. The lines presented take place in 2023. Context will be provided with [brackets] providing it, and the situation.
Picard is generally annoyed, or anxious. He puts on a face to others to appear confident and professional. He is also very manipulative.
Remember, this is meant to be serving as an audio log that's been pulled from archives, so if you want to add some form of style to it, feel free and be sure to let me know if it was intentional. You don't have to add it, however it's a nice bonus mark to those who will be reviewing your audition.

Gentlemen, it's great to see you here today. If only it were on a good occasion, that is. I'm sure you're all briefed on the details so I'll attempt to keep it short. We're holding on to a doomed future and I'll be honest with you, if I'm going to die anytime soon I'm dying because of old age. Not because some of our citizens attacked the Moroccan Army. What I propose, is we cut a deal with the Moroccan Government. Not because we surrender, but to prevent unnecessary bloodshed. I'm getting too old for this, and after everything that's happened.. I just want some peace of mind.

Well, it appears that everything has come into place. Mr. Johnson and his wife are joining me tomorrow at the trenches to provide a speech. I think this whole conflict is unnecessary, but it's what the senate declares... I'm really getting too old for this. The doctor is running out of heart medicine and there are other folk in this town who need it more than I. Perhaps I should resign and let someone else take over... maybe then I won't die of a heart attack.
