Gray Voice is one of the last of the Chozo, an ancient race with technology spread all across the galaxy. With only three male members left, all of whom are hundreds of years old, it is inevitable that their race will die out. To leave something for the next generation, they initially planned for Mother Brain to be the last of their legacy. But with the Space Pirates attack and theft of her, they focused their attention on the young Samus, the only survivor of the Pirate Raid. Now Gray Voice serves as her guide, teaching her the ways of the Chozo, from their history to their combat skills.  He's often impatient with her, frustrated by the barriers she's put up for herself that prevent her from fully using the Chozo's Power Suit. But he does love her and this shows in their quiet moments, which is the basis for the first audition line. The second audition line highlights one of his more frustrated lines, when Samus is having trouble mastering the Power Suit. And the final audition line shows how much he truly cares for her as Gray Voice begs her to escape when the Space Pirates attack the Chozo. Give it a sense of pleading and care. He desperately wants her to be safe. As for how the voice sounds, he's an old man with a strong voice. I don't have a full idea of what I'd like so I'm open to interpretation so I can see what clicks.
