Benjamin Joshua Washington, sometimes called Ben by his friends or Benjy by Mark, is one of the main characters in The Mark Side. He is known for being Mark's victim of failed romance, and for having an extremely short temper. He is the brother of Jonathon Washington, who he is often seen with.
Benjamin is portrayed as a short tempered, yet smart boy. His short temper is due to Mark always annoying him. He's often shown as wanting to be left alone. Despite his temper, he is a nice person whenever Mark isn't around. He can be very sassy, and is very often sarcastic.
*puzzled, shocked* "Why's he so forgiving to Mark..!? Mark's done nothing but be an ass to him! What redeeming qualities could he POSSIBLY see in him!?"
*angry* "I'm sure I can speak for all of us when I say this, but we want to care, Mark, we do. But you make it too goddamn hard for us to even consider it! Now stop following us, and leave us all alone."
*stern, reluctantly agreeing* "Well fine then. I know you came here to walk with us, so you can do that. But when we get to school, leave us alone. Got it?"
