Description:

Hot headed and somewhat unpredictable. He acts with a vague sense of justice, and despite his more indecent mannerisms, he looks up to his superiors and follows orders when he knows it’s necessary. While he dislikes royalty and nobles, the one thing he truly cannot tolerate is lack of effort and lack of loyalty. These characteristics cause him to clash with Alecto, forming an almost bully/victim relationship between the two due to his abject dislike towards Alecto’s weakness.

His place within the group is that of the fighter, and while he is not dimwitted nor intellectually challenged, he lacks eloquence in the way he shares his ideas and motivations. This causes him to be somewhat undervalued by his peers, but Iris tends to understand him best. Perhaps this is why he acts within her orders and shows such respect to her?

On top of all of this, Kain holds a fair amount of baggage to him. Whilst being scouted by Iris for his abilities, Kain had to leave his hometown of Blague, leaving his sister and mother. Kain was promised that in return for his help, his remaining family would be funded to live a happy life. Unbeknownst to Kain, this was not the case, and his remaining family died soon after he left due to lacking Kain’s strength to help with farming, leaving them unable to meet quotas from their boss and evicted from their home. They soon died from fatigue and hunger. He holds himself to a high standard so that he can make his family proud, and put the fighting techniques his father, before his untimely demise, taught him to good use.

His voice should be fairly low, with a slight raspy growl to it. Animalistic and raw are the words I would use to describe it. Keep in mind that he is a main character, and while not the central focus, will have many lines. Accents are up for interpretation, as with a majority of the cast. I also want to make sure that Kain keeps his youth, so the person I cast will most likely be someone who can still sound 19 whilst keeping the low nature of Kain’s voice.
