[Major Role] Halgaladh Arthellyn comes from a line with a long and proud tradition. He is of mixed ancestry - it is said that in ancient times now long-forgotten, his line stemmed from a union between an elf and a goddess. If that be true, his blood by this point in time is almost exclusively human. Yet there is, perhaps some truth to the tales for he is very tall (6' 8") and strong.

He is descended from a long line of Aegis Guardsmen. It was his distant grandfather, Cuilornir Arthellyn, who founded the Aegis Guard at the direction of the king. He's not the type to pick up a bow and dance around the perimeter. He'd rather get into the mix with his sword. Only a few in the Aegis guard are better with a sword. In combat, Halgaladh is an expert soldier like the rest of the guard. While doing battle, he keeps some level of awareness about what the rest of the unit is doing and works well with others to coordinate attacks. He understands his role as a point man in melee.

Outside of combat, Halgaladh is headstrong and needs a strong leader in order to be content with following. Otherwise, he tends to butt in and take control. If he sees a direction, he is most likely to push hard to make it happen. He's not ambitious but he does think that a leader should set a direction and make it happen.

Halgaladh is an expert woodsman in spite of his large stature. He is most comfortable in the north just south of where the forests begin to thin because of the frigid temperatures and extremely long winters.

Halgaladh is noble and fierce and strong and true and loyal -- all the things associated with his fathers before him. He is big-hearted. You'll see him carving figurines to give out to children when he passes through towns along the way.

He used to be something of a hot head, using his anger to fuel his battle rage that he used to quite an advantage. His strength and skill paired with a very large and intimidating frame tended to run off as man orcs as he actually killed. However, that rage is tempered quite a bit. He no longer has a unit - or for that manner any - commander to rail against. He seems to be the man now, and he hopes that he is up to the task for he is not really all that sure. Everything seemed so black & white when he could sit back and point out all the faults. He will do his best to remember everything that he thought was screwed up and do a better job. He has no problem accepting input, but he will be calling the shots at some point and will do so quite firmly if necessary.

  • Nay, sir. I have no wish to counter your command nor to be contrary, but I will not violate the tenets of our order on your whim. To kill in battle is honorable; to kill a prisoner in our control... you must conduct your own murder.

  • Those honorable gentlemen, valiant of heart though they be, are no match for our strength and skill and have no place in an extraction operation. Maybe we should just line them up as fodder - their souls forfeit for the honor of being in the company of the self-important Aegis. Maybe the information we bear should be placed on banners for the enemy to use to destroy any chance at restoring the rightful owner of the throne in Eledhel.

  • I know all this. You just don't know... Let's just say that tight spaces and I have a history. I'm not worried about the water. It's this womb of cold earth is my concern. Bah! Im going.
