(proud) "Neila* doesn't go anywhere without a good book to read. That's why she's the smartest of the Seven Sisters."
*pronounced NAI-lah
(content, then worried) "Whew! Nothing calms me down more than a good warmup. I just hope the others are all right, especially Yangtsi. None of us have seen him since the squabble in his room. Hope he and Xyno* make up soon."
*pronounced ZAI-no
(angry) "You bastard...She saw something in you. She looked up to you, yet you treat her like a mere toy! How could you do such a thing?!"
Your voice definitely fits this character better, though each line sounds like they have the same pitch as the first one. Also, Neila and Xyno are pronounced with the long "I" sound, as in "nice". Otherwise, your performance is pretty good.
Alright...noted...I am still practicing a sporty voice... hopefully I can change that pitch for you.
That's what the parenthesized words before each line stand for. For example, for the second line, the first part is said contently and then the second part shifts to a more worried tone because something serious just happened.
I know... so should I audition again?
You don't have to. Once I have the recordings completed, I'll upload them onto probably my Google Drive. Each character folder will have a readme that contains descriptions for each line and all you have to do is match my recordings to your best ability. Unlike the audition lines, the actual lines for the visual novel are going to be short sounds and phrases (e.g. a sad sigh, an angry "Hmph.", a happy "Nice to meet you.") If you ever need any clarifications, feel free to ask. Does that make sense?
So how do we know if we get the role?
I've mostly gotten auditions for the same character(s). I'm probably going to wait until I have at least one audition per character and as soon as I get my recordings done.
Just out of curiosity, where are other people auditioning from?
Some from here, others from Twitter.
