Anytime she's stressed, she practices tae kwon do. She also loves to draw. She hopes to be an art student and to have her artwork shown to where the world can see. She's very impatient and stubborn.
I watch as he swings his guitar case over his shoulder, and pushes his gigantic square glasses up on his nose. He holds his songbook firmly in one hand and puts his lucky pencil behind his ear. He takes off his Yankees baseball cap with his other hand.
I crouch behind the red, beaten up lockers in awe of him. He's the talk of the whole school! He made promises over the intercom the first day of freshman year that he would be a famous musician before we graduate.
I continue to stare. He can do it. No one else believes in him, but I do. He’s just so passionate and never talks to anyone because he's so fixated on his music. The only time he interacts with others is when they ask about his music.
Before I know what's happening, my legs start carrying me closer to him. I can't stop them. I ache to hear his music. My heart races.
“Chord Price,” I squeak.
