Ruun is a 16 year old boy, newly enrolled into The International Academy of Knight Operation. With a somewhat sordid history, the boy grew up without a mother, and with a father that was often absent to ensure he could support his son, just over a year prior to Iron Battalion’s story, his father also went missing.
Ruun is a socially inept, hot-headed boy that lets his temper get the better of him. Ruun makes some effort to have a positive outlook on life, even if he knows that there’s a darker side to it.
Ruun’s voice is likely to have the most lines in the entire novel as he is the protagonist from which the viewer sees the story of Iron Battalion, that being said, a particular accent doesn’t matter, though his voice is ideally in a moderate range, not particularly heavy or light.
Please submit your audition with the below lines in mind. If there’s anything you’d like to adlib to try different emotive ranges that would be excellent as well.
“What’s that supposed to mean!?” (Slightly offended, after being told he has a face for radio)
“So what! You think you’ve got the moral high ground because you lost someone? Like hell that gives you the right to take lives!”
“I… need a moment… please?... (Standing over the corpse of a friend, addressing a group around him.)
Hi Furious, I'm glad to say you have been shortlisted for this role, I really think you nailed most of the audition and would to hear back from you. One thing I do say is I believe the last line felt like a whole different character with a different voice rather than Ruun with a different tone and mentally wounded.
