Zero and Iris were once lovers with different viewpoints of the world. Iris and her brother (Colonel) were part of a group called Repliforce, a group of Reploids (automatons) who believed in a world where peace would only exist without humans. After a war between Maverick Hunters and Repliforce, Zero kills Iris’ brother, Colonel and the final scene ensues with Iris's death.
