My Choker -historical supernatural horror Audiobook-
Morgan Winter for Lottie
An entitled starlight and aristocrat, Lottie lets her fame and fortune get to her head. She married the Count almost on a whim whilst visiting England and finds herself his greatest victim. She at first has no love for her children and becomes quite the abuser herself. Over time, Lottie learns to love and care for her children and tries all she can to make up for her cruelty to them. She eventually looses her mind when her eldest daughter, Heidi, kills herself, spiraling her down the same path.
She speaks a hefty amount in her journals, so she might be listed as supporting, but does have a lot to say. (She has around 22,390 words of narration)
Feeling of being haunted - “It is hard to sleep when it feels that even darkness has eyes that are watching you.“
Almost in pain and very haggard, but trying to comfort her child - “I shushed her and said, “You did well, Heidi, but I'll take care of everything from here on. I promise that you will never have to do that again.” My voice began to trail off. “I promise…””
Entitled and pretentious - ”I don’t know why I perform some of the time. Why waste the night entertaining those with not nearly half as much talent as I do just to have them tell me what I already know. Though, I suppose there is a power to it. People stopping and watching and listening all because I have the stage.”
Almost lecturing - “You do not understand the way things work around here. That was intentional. He let you get away just so he could hunt you down. He did it to me. He's done it to others. Foolish girl, you are not special.”
Scolding and harsh - “Oh quiet, you brat! It was a hideous shade of pink, which is a BOY’s color. It was never meant for you. You have plenty toys, so stop your sniveling!”
Harsh but because of concern - “Charlotte, go to your room, it’s past your bedtime!”
