Link is Sam's friend who works at The Daily Grind. He is quite active and enjoys the outdoors, a love he shared with his late father. While his father was dying in the hospital he met Sam for the first time and they became friends. Sam helped him through the grief process of losing his father, and he has grown quite fond of Sam. He tries unsuccessfully at first to ask her out on a date, but Sam agrees when he friends point out that Link wanted her to go on a date with him. He grows quite protective of Sam and is also a little hostile towards Marshall. When Marshall falls ill and Sam calls him for help he reluctantly comes but Sam is confused with his hostility towards Marshall. Link realizes he has made a mistake and realizes Marshall feels genuinely sorry. He puts a pause on wanting to pursue a romantic relationship with Sam, recognizing her anxiety about the idea of dating.
