Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Fandub: Reiji Akaba
Thepeachgod for Shuzo Hiragi
Character Description: Shuzo is an over-the-top and passionate man in his early or late thirties. He is the co-founder of the You Show Duel School but took over full time after the disappearance of Yusho Sakaki. While most of the time his students appear to be ahead of him, Shuzo demonstrates that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover as he proves himself as a capable duelist and helpful mentor. He’s silly most of the time, but when the time for him to be serious arrives, Shuzo always delivers.
Voice Description: Because Shuzo is around his thirties, I expect him to have a deep voice with lots of energy. Kind of like Might Guy from Naruto.
Shuzo attempts to bring Yuya out of his depression, by challenging the boy to a duel.
"Yuya! Duel me right this instant! I'll beat that pessimistic mindset of yours outta you with my hot-blooded guidance! It's because of that attitude that you lost to Reiji Akaba in the first place!"
Yuya, depressed that he isn't the only one that can use Pendulum Summoning anymore, tries to run away from everyone to be alone.
"And where do you think you're going?! Yuya, you've been doing this ever since you were a kid. Every time you ran into a problem, you always ran! News flash for you, but reality isn't going to change, even if you run from it!"
Shuzo manages to Pendulum Summon using Stargazer Magician and Timegazer Magician, lighting his dueling spirit.
"I'll now set these two cards, Scale One Stargazer Magician in the Right Zone and Scale Eight Timegazer Magician in the Left Zone, in order to activate the Pendulum Scale! Now I can simultaneously summon monsters from levels two through seven! I Pendulum Summon! Behold the flames of passion from my burning soul! Charge forward! Guts Master Fire and Guts Master Heat!
I'm glad you had fun with the auditions, man! I always love doing voices for a bunch of characters and submitting them too! I do have a question about your mic. It kind of ranged inconsistently from this audition to your other ones. Like in a few of the previous ones, you were close, but then this one it sounds like you were far away. A good tip to help this inconsistency is establishing a position for it. I understand that feeling of wanting to get really close to your mic and present your passion for the role! That caused a bit of trouble for me and my auditions too, haha. You can help this position by putting your hand, making the cellphone gesture with your fingers, between your mic and your mouth. Usually that much distance should be between you. Second, your background environment sounded a bit echoish. I think moving to a compact room will help nullify the sounds bouncing off the walls (like closets because they have the clothes). Not everyone's environment is the same though, so you may have to experiment with this. This was good audition though! And gosh darn that reference at the end, haha!
Thank you for the feedback. I have kind of lower end equipment at the moment, so im using a cover over my head to try and block the echo and its making it hard to range the mic. I'll Try moving to a better place though.
