Serving at the priory on Novis, Genny's mother was born there, but she hated the life on the island and departed for the royal capital for several years before returning with her as a newborn, and while her father was never known, it seems he was a nobleman with a wife and children. Afterwards, her mother left her behind at the priory and disappeared, with Genny carrying only a pendant that her mother received from her father. She would spend several years in the Priory, becoming acquainted with fellow children Celica, Boey, and Mae.
May or may not be a sheep in disguise.

“Mae and Boey seem excited to have left the Priory to travel, but to be honest, I’m more than a little afraid. I’ve always been the type to stay home and read rather than go on adventures. Guess I’d rather write a story about an epic quest than be on one myself. Though I imagine being left out would feel even worse…”
"Who is that boy you met at the castle, Celica? Oh, a friend you grew up with? Aww… And here I thought you’d gone and found a boyfriend! I mean, you two just looked so perfect together. He’s around your age, isn’t he? Mmm. That wouldn’t work for me. I’d prefer to be with someone older. That way you feel like they’re really taking care of you. Hee hee."
