Kaoruko is a somewhat bratty and lazy stage girl who comes from a proud traditional family. Her voice is somewhat high pitched and incredibly nasally. Most of her lines consist of her complaining, her being arrogant, or her being proud.
This role is the one we are the most concerned about filling, however if no one can fill it we will open up Karen instead.

I'm Kaoruko Hanayagi of the Senka-ryu School of traditional Japanese dance. I hope you enjoy the play I will be staring in.

(After she and Tamao have recognized each other. Tamao has asked her to step down and not participate in the Revue so that she doesn't have to fight her. Said very brutally and proudly, similar tone to the line before.)
You'll never be a top star. You're the one who should drop out of these audition right now. You have some nerve telling me to quite while you won't do the same. Well, good luck in the next audition, I guess. Everyone's counting on you, after all.
