About Strawberry Brain Games

Strawberry Brain Games is an independent one-person studio founded by Zach Destael in Milwaukee, Wisconsin — continuing a tabletop tradition that began an hour south of here when Gary Gygax co-created Dungeons & Dragons in Lake Geneva fifty years ago.

We build original tabletop roleplaying experiences rooted in video game logic, ecological accuracy, and the kind of depth that rewards players who pay attention. Our flagship system, The Tabletop Video Game (TTVG), is four years in active development — a complete cross-genre framework where game over is just the beginning.

Everything you see from Strawberry Brain Games is built by one person in the margins of a full time job, drawing on twenty years at the tabletop, a background in entomology, military service, and an astronomical amount of video games played in the name of research.

We are currently casting for The Last Horn, the first official actual play series for TTVG’s Wild World setting — a dramatic comedy about creature ethics, political pressure, and a living ecosystem that reacts to every choice.

At Strawberry Brain Games we gamify the forgotten obvious, and makes it unforgettable.

What Strawberry Brain Games is looking for

We are currently casting for The Last Horn, the first official actual play series for TTVG’s Wild World setting — a dramatic comedy about creature ethics, political pressure, and a living ecosystem that reacts to every choice.

Every Tamable Creature is designed from real zoology first — their biology determines their abilities, their behavior determines how you catch them, and the method you use to catch them defines the relationship that follows. For those who prefer strategy over partnership, the Summoner Path uses TCG mechanics to capture defeated creatures and deploy them from a customizable deck in combat.

How will you tame the Wild?
