Started in an NQ-level entry in Digital Media and Games before going on to the Higher National Certificate in Television/Film Productions and then a Higher Nation Diploma when finishing my third year. We learned how to work with cameras, tripods, mics, and booms, with software for recording and editing, and how to look after it all. Working in teams or solo, we had access to soundproofing rooms/booths, green screens, and large halls and got to work with independent production companies. Mainly practical based, we also covered paperwork in pre-productions, post-production, and scouting/recon for health and safety. The college also had a mini awards ceremony for 'Mandys' for best categories in different genres, where I won for best documentary on the topic of Sustainable Scotland, covering the construction of the Edinburgh Trams. The college itself has since joined up with others and is now Edinburgh College.

Originally a three-year plan, I did an extra year to finish a course in Photography Practice which was fascinating work to do. During the course, we learned different methods of acting, stage and film directing, editing and filming within time frames and deadlines, script writing for both stage and screenwriting, the history and background of different theatre and Hollywood genres, and working with different people and ideas. The studying was long as it was mainly written than practical however, it did teach me patients and introduced me to more types of genres/films/theatre works and ideas than I realized existed. It was also here that I learned more variety of voice recording and how it would fit in with prerecorded footage and visuals.
