@samstarkNon binary transmasc audiobook narrator, voice actor, and sound designer.
Hello, I'm Sam. I live in Seattle, eat a lot of BBQ chips, and read too many horror novels. I'm also a super fan of video games, Minecraft longplays, and homebody vlogs.
Fifteen Weeks of online Conservatory-level Acting Training tailored specifically to the Audiobook Performer. Working from the template of the college Acting 101 courses he taught for years, Joel Leslie Froomkin has completely retooled the syllabus to create a constant focus on the needs of the vocal performer. Narrators may utilize physicality in the booth to help craft a character, and that work will be explored. But the course constantly places emphasis upon the truth in voice work - character, 3rd person narration and dialogue. Each week has a guided syllabus, specific topics to explore, goals, and assignments which build upon each other. This is not a ‘drop-in’ or ‘troubleshooting’ class, but a complete introduction to performance techniques for the audiobook actor.
‘Acting For Audio’ is not a narration technique class. The focus is upon the work of the actor and how it is applied to audio, but it is not primarily focused on mic technique etc, marketing, acx etc. as traditional one-on-one coaching might be. Every student will have one free 1/2 hour private coaching session that they may use to either address audiobook specific needs, or for a deeper dive/guidance in class work.

I am open to anything, but I am currently trying to break into video games.
