About Rafael Sautchuk

Greetings!

For about all my life I was a huge fan of video games and movies. I remember staying hours and hours and hours (which I still do!) looking at all those sprites, trying to get the main character to the end of the level, or covering my eyes when Jason Voorhees appeared in front of his victim.

Time goes by, I grew up and I realized what made me enjoy all that time with my video games and movies: their fenomenal soundtracks!

So, I just thought: "Why can't I made those soundtracks myself?" - and then my goal was set.

Taking inspiration from many games, specially the Silent Hill and Resident Evil psychological horror series and most horror movies (specially from the 80's), I started developing my style of compositions, both aiming as a movie/video game composer but also as an artist.

I believe music is much more than just mathematical equations, I believe music sets up the entire mood and it's interconnected with what the developers (for games) and directors (for movies) want their audience to feel. And that is what a movie/video game composer needs to know: how will the audience feel when they get to that single area in the game, or see those events being shown in a film? How am I going to improve that with my music?

Music is life, and my life is music. A free way of showing feelings from a such emotions pool as we are.

Now we just need to dive in this pool and let the sonic mass takes us to wherever our mind and our heart want.
