(Semi-Recurring Role)

Character Description

A wealthy socialite and model who is the only daughter of Gotham City Councilor Garnett St. Cloud and Michelin Star chef Walter St. Cloud. She’s quite well-known in Gotham for her lavish lifestyle, her iconic husky voice and platinum blonde locks, not to mention her many extravagant parties. This latter point seems to be parlaying itself into a successful career as an event planner.

Silver is enamored of the handsome, enigmatic Bruce Wayne, and has sent him numerous entreaties in various states of undress. However, this is not to say that she’s desperate or brazen, merely driven, well aware of her sex appeal, and certain of what, or rather who, she wants.

The Voice

Low and husky, late 20’s to early 30’s. American accent.

  • [entreating] Bruce, sweetheart, I know you’ve been getting my calls. And while I’m sure you have very good reasons for giving me the cold shoulder, let me show you exactly what you’re missing.

Desdemona Cassandra Powers

Character Description

Desdemona Cassandra Powers is a renowned businesswoman born and bred in Hub City, Illinois. She is callous and possessed of heartless ambition, believing herself to be untouchable. To be fair, she’s not exactly wrong in this regard. Many a person has disappeared at her command, though she obviously doesn’t advertise this. She is familiar with Bruce Wayne from when he was a child and she was just starting out, and sees him as simply another obstacle to topple over or outmaneuver.

Powers will stop at nothing to assert her dominance in all facets of life. Her husband Sherman has since lapsed into drunken, unfaithful acceptance of this fact. Derek, her teenage son and heir apparent, privately rankles at every bit of his mother’s overbearing personality save for her peerless ambition. He’s inherited that in spades, but she cannot see past his unimpressive exterior to realize that.

The Voice

Medium to low, mid-40’s. American accent.

  • [hastily] Don’t mind him, Brucie. Derek’s a very bright boy, top of his class - with my genes, that’s to be expected. But… ah… he’s a little impetuous, you understand.

  • [disgusted] Laying down on the job again, Sherman? Why can’t you have the decency to do that in a gutter like all the other low-lives?

  • [into ‘phone] This is Powers. Talk to me. [BEAT, delighted] Oh, it’s almost done? Excellent, excellent! Everything’s coming up roses! I’ll tell Mister Abbot to head over with the finishing touches at once. He’s in the garage now and will be en route shortly. Now, as for our “friend”… [dark chuckle] Give him my “thanks,” would you?

Whisper A'Daire AKA Copperhead

Character Description

Orphaned on the streets of New York City, Whisper was chosen to enter the secret league of assassins, Zilal, at a young age. She excelled in all forms of espionage and wetworks; by the time she came of age, she was selected by Ra’s al-Ghul himself to receive a special gift in the form of an injection. Wracked with pain, Whisper’s skin molted away… and Copperhead was born. After many, many assassinations, Copperhead soon found herself unsatisfied with her work and, alongside former lover and fellow assassin Iron Wolf, defected.

Whisper is driven, laconic, and quick-witted. She can easily manipulate people both emotionally and physically. In a one-on-one fight she can be lethal, though she’s become perhaps a bit too used to always having the upper hand. Despite working for Powers, she has no opinion on the woman. So long as she gets paid, Whisper has no scruples or morals to inhibit her performance.

The Voice

High to medium, mid-20’s. American accent.

  • Magnusite? As in Will Magnus, the famous roboticist?

  • [improvising, trying to scare] Some kind of… shade from the future! A… big, black, billowing shape that’s come back to stop us from doing this! To stop you from saving your sister! You need to hurry!

  • [triumphant, zealous] Thanks to you, our employer now has the means to quite literally make the competition a thing of the past! Wayne, Alva, Kord, even Goth and LexCorp! All exterminated!

Cat Grant

Character Description

The bright, chipper face of APEX 4’s midday newsdesk, Cat Grant is arguably the most trusted regular fixture of Gotham’s airwaves. She speaks with confidence and authority yet never seems aloof or uncaring. Approachability is the name of the game - though whether or not that extends off-camera is another matter entirely.

The Voice

High to medium, mid-20’s. American accent.

  • Breaking news now: billionaire industry magnate Alexander Luthor, Sr. announced that he will be stepping down as CEO of LexCorp due to health reasons related to complex regional pain syndrome. He will take the position as majority shareholder, while his son, Lex, Jr., takes the reins of one of America's most successful corporations. We here at APEX 4 News wish him the best!

The GCPD announced today that there have been no further leads in the case of the Robinson Park Zoo’s missing alligator, Chompy, who vanished from his enclosure last Tuesday night. Surveillance did not show any perpetrators.

  • In other news, Doctor Kent Nelson of Boston University has announced that he will be coming to Gotham on a lecture tour regarding his recent joint reappraisal of the Egyptian Book of the Dead with Lake Superior State University’s Professor Carter Hall. Their findings have left members of the archaeological community in an uproar. Though, given Doctor Nelson’s pedigree, it’s sure to be a riveting three-and-a-half hours. Tickets go on sale next Thursday starting at $150 and are expected to sell out quickly. Get them while they last!

Noah Maxwell

(Semi-Recurring Role)

Character Description

Part of the Wayne Manor staff, Noah is a computer scientist just a little bit younger than Bruce himself. He never intentionally courts trouble, but his days as a reckless teenage hacker got him involved with unsavory elements. He’s always a bit worried they’ll come back to get revenge on him.

Noah is upbeat, friendly, and has a love for indie bands. He often listens to his favorite tracks while working on projects. Ideally, he’d like to be remembered for decades to come and spoken of in the same breath as Tim Berners-Lee and Steve Jobs. However, he’s not holding that breath.

The Voice

High-to-medium, early 20’s. American accent.

  • [confused, infatuated] Mister Wayne, with all due respect, what the hell is wrong with you!? How could you say no to… to… all that woman?

  • [explaining] Creepypastas. They’re basically short online horror stories. Kind of like those old campfire tales, you know, man-eating monsters in the woods, hook-handed guys prowling around Lover’s Lane, that kind of thing.

  • [thinking] Well, to be honest, rumors that the Ten-Eyed Man’s tied up in something illegal have been going around for a while. There’s tons of forums and subreddits where people obsess over the tiniest details - images, random words, choice of song he’s backmasking, you know. Plenty of people think they’re connected to modern day crimes, but there also plenty of theorists who think this guy killed Kennedy and Gandhi, and even more who think it’s just some prankster with too much time on his hands.

Temple Fugate

Role assigned to: GD Kalmbach

Character Description

A brilliant, devoted scientist, Professor Temple Fugate is a driven, single-minded individual with little time for fools. The years since his sister’s untimely death have introduced a sense of paranoia into the mix which can make him a bit difficult to get along with. An understated sense of humor is also present, alongside a love of classic British science fiction and a disdain for Egyptology.

Prof. Fugate has been on a downward spiral ever since the death of his sister, Letitia Fiennes. Unduly blaming himself for the accident, he threw himself into researching time travel, determined to alter the timeline and bring his beloved sister back. The scientific community laughed him out, which has only strengthened his resolve.

After many years of financial ruin and no success, Prof. Fugate has now begun receiving assistance from a shadowy group providing funds and fantastic resources. While he recognizes this is likely a deal with the proverbial devil, Prof. Fugate is desperate to make his dream a reality. He’s so focused that he may not see betrayal coming until it’s too late….

The Voice

High to medium, late 20’s to mid-30’s. American accent.

  • [bitter laugh] What results? My work has yielded nothing but failures. The others were right. I’m living in a fantasy.

  • Yes, that Will Magnus. Some say you can find his picture in the dictionary right under “omnidisciplinary.” His work in the field of chemistry is very well-regarded, if somewhat dangerous in practice. [chuckle] How did that old series start? “Transuranic heavy elements may not be used where there is life. Medium atomic weights are available.”

  • [just been told the voice of his sister is him breaking down, not her ghost; he is at a near-total breakdown here] Don’t you think I know that!? But I can’t! Stop! Hearing! Her! Until I make this right, my life is meaningless. [quiet, bitterly resigned] I am but a pawn of my own guilt and self-loathing.

Bruno "Ugly" Mannheim
open

Character Description

The consummate hitman, Bruno Mannheim is a known menace in Metropolis, but rarely crosses the Delaware Bay to Gotham City. The scars on his face mean he’s not the prettiest picture in the gallery. The nickname “Ugly” is well-earned, though this is partly due to the carnage he wreaks in Metropolis for the biggest spender - usually Lex Luthor.

Mannheim’s brutal when working, but can lay on the charm when he needs to. This is likely one of the reasons why he’s avoided capture for too long, his connections to the city’s upper echelons being another. The man has very few morals or scruples, but curiously, he has enough of a heart that he’ll check if someone’s okay if they’re hurt by a mutual enemy.

Quite how he fell in with Powers, Whisper, and their lot is unknown. It seems that they’re not terribly fond of him, considering they leave him out to dry once he’s captured. It’s unlikely that he’s too worried, though, as he’s sure to be sprung from Stryker’s Island Penitentiary before too long.

The Voice

Deep, mid-30’s to mid-40’s. Thick Brooklyn accent.

  • [chuckle] Afraid I’m just the middleman, but I can tell you this is a very, very good opportunity for you. How long’s it been since you ate anything you didn’t nuke in a microwave, prof? Here, take a look at this.

  • You can make it up to her, and then ensure your work helps others as well. You might be in a rut right now, pal, but you’re still a man of science. You understand science is for helping your fellow man. What do you say?

  • [unsure] Hey, Nose-fer-ray-too, you alive? [BEAT] Yo! Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!

Role assigned to: Beckett Joyce/Alefine VA

Character Description

The son of Sherman and Desdemona Cassandra Powers, and the latter's heir apparent. He's got a good head for business, much like his mother. He hates being treated like a child despite acting like the spoiled brat he is. In addition, the lad is also a devoted fan of long-running British science fiction show The Everlasting Voyages of Mister Evermore.

The Voice

High to medium, 13. American accent.

  • [bratty, dismissive] Don’t try to make small talk. My family’s going to own you soon, and my father’s always told me that it’s unseemly to get too familiar with the hired help.

  • [outraged] Adorable?! Listen here, you miserable old has-been, I-

  • [sardonic] Ladies and gentlemen, the post-nuclear family. Who needs to say “I do” when you can say “do I have to”?

Character Description

A member of Zilal (the League of Assassins). He’s a wanted criminal in his native India and many other nations besides. A principled killer, Misra has been sent to Gotham in pursuit of Kyle Abbot and Whisper A'Daire. After all, one simply does not leave the League without deadly consequences...

The Voice

Medium to low, mid-to-late 30s. Indian accent.

  • [polite] Excuse me - your bodyguard, Mister Abbot, is an old friend of mine. I was hoping to catch him. Do you know where he’s gone?

  • [irritated] Mission update. The other target has eluded me. Clearly, her abilities have developed beyond expectations since she flew from Zilal. I will attempt to relocate both of them forthwith. Until then, Tiger out.

  • [anguished, broken nose] You betrayed our people. You left your post. You have divided us!
