TUNNELVISION (CLOSED)
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Howdy! This call is for my upcoming series TUNNELVISION, an animated series aimed towards ages 12 and upwards. Combining inspiration from sci-fi plots like Doctor Who with fantastical worldbuilding like Alice in Wonderland, I have created a pilot that is equally as mesmerising as it is horrifying with its existential dread. Furthermore, the world and character designs are heavily based on trains, in particular the London Underground. If you are interested in locomotives, existentialism or complex character dilemmas, then this is the show for you!
PILOT OVERVIEW
The pilot takes place in the Locomotel, an underground town where people live in stations and use trains to visit each other. In this town lives Pascal, your friendly everyman who is about to experience the most important day of his life: the day where he finds out if he's going to get promoted by the town mayor and personal idol Elizabeth. However, one thing gets in the way of his dream - a disgruntled man who is convinced that he's 'not from there'...despite there being nowhere else that exists anymore.
Or is there? Their opposing stubbornness ends up revealing an awful secret - and in an instant, Pascal's perfect town, and by extension Elizabeth, end up being far worse than he realised.
PRODUCTION DATES
The deadline for auditions is 20th August 2025. If there aren't enough submissions to create the pilot, I will extend this deadline. However, as the pilot script is ready, it will be in production shortly after acquiring enough members. I will notify artists, animators, composers and writers two days after their submissions and voice actors two weeks after the deadline.
EXTRA INFORMATION
As much as I'd like to pay you for your hard work, the amount being paid will depend entirely on support on Patreon, Gofundme and Youtube. Since it is mostly based on luck to be successful on social media, be aware that there is a decent chance that you won't get paid on this project. This is simply a passion project of mine! However, even if this is not the case, this will be an excellent opportunity for networking and portfolio development.
The work will be zero-hours, meaning you can work on the pilot whenever you have time available.
All participants must be fluent in English or understand English to a comprehensive level. For voice actors: bear in mind that all roles, even background roles, will require a London/Southern English accent. I am not picky about which audio software you use (I'm an animator, I know next to nothing about audio software), as long as it sounds high quality I'm ok with it.
Attached is a storyboard for one of the scenes in the pilot, created by me. This is a good indicator of the show's writing and art style: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nAEsjyPbuKH7rUcbda9TPx4dQd20y-NS/view?usp=sharing
Thank you for reading and I look forward to seeing your portfolios!
UPDATE: Whether you want to be a part of the cast or just want to support an indie animator, the TUNNELVISION discord is now open! Feel free to follow the progess: https://discord.gg/AYgGHUQVwz
Also PLEASE PLEASE attach any socials you have in your account! CCC will not let me contact anymore people for spam reasons so I can't accept your place if I can't contact you!!

He is the main character of TUNNELVISION. I envisioned him to sound like a fairly well off, middle class adult that has a friendly, jolly energy about him. The closest thing I can think of is a teacher/uncle that tries to be 'hip with the kids' type of archetype.
I will not be using custom audition lines, rather I'd prefer if you could speak a few lines from my scene attached below. You don't have to read all of it - just enough to showcase what you can do.

Poli is the deuteragonist of TUNNELVISION.
I envisioned him to sound like a foil to Pascal, in that he has a more blunt, carefree way of talking to others. He has quite a lot of exaggerated lines of his mind falling apart at the world around him, so somebody that is confident in sounding like a lunatic would be ideal!

Elizabeth is the main villain of TUNNELVISION, but in she spends the majority of the pilot in her 'friendly mayor' persona. For this character, I would need a person who can voice a caring, motherly figure but can switch to an intimidating demeanour in an instant.

He is one of the secondary antagonists of TUNNELVISION, and the main villain in the pilot.
For this character, I would need a person who is comfortable with voicing dramatic, cartoony villains. He's your typical posh asshole, so feel free to take your own creative spin on the trope.

She is one of Pascal's bandmates.
Since this is a more minor role, I haven't thought much about her voice. However, I was imagining a somewhat rough, rockstar-like quality to her voice, or something akin to the 'rebellious teen' archetype.

He is one of Pascal's bandmates.
I would suggest giving him a more sarcastic, done-with-life style voice. I heard some more childish voices from him and decided it did not suit his character.

This is for background characters that have 0-2 lines throughout the pilot. You might also be asked to perform ensemble sounds (e.g gasping, laughing). If you apply for one of the other voice roles you will automatically be considered for a background role unless you disclose otherwise.

N/A
This role will translate the actions in the storyboard to become more realistic and readable. The art style for the pilot is unrealistically exaggerated and cartoony, so an demo reel with that style of animation is more likely to get chosen.
Would prefer to have work on Clip Studio Paint, but the animation quality is more important and I will still accept animators who do not use that software.

Clean up artists will be required to clean up the animations done by the rough animation team (removing tangents, making linework smoother etc.). They will also be responsible for colouring the animations.

The storyboard artist will be responsible for visualising a scene from the given script. They will receive feedback from me on how to direct the scene and how to layout the composition. An understanding of scene composition, perspective shots and character's body language is essential.

The background artist will be responsible for translating the perspective shots in the storyboards to create believable, complex backgrounds. To be suitable for this role one must have an understanding of perspective and drawing architecture.
No particular software is required as long as the images produced are high quality.

Although I already have designs for my pilot cast, I would like some feedback from artists on how to improve these designs and what directions I could take them. They will also be responsible for conceptualising any background characters or locations I haven't created yet. If the pilot is successful, they will be responsible for the concept art and character design in later episodes.

This role is to create non-diegetic music to help fit the tone of the story.
TUNNELVISION is a teen show with sci-fi elements, so a musician experienced in creating atmospheric or ambient score would be ideal, akin to the score in Infinity Train or Doctor Who.

The pilot is already fully written by me, but I would like some feedback on how to improve the writing and brainstorm ideas for dialogue scenes. If the pilot episode is successful, I would be happy to keep you on for writing future episodes.
Although I am happy for anybody who speaks English to apply, it would be ideal to have an understanding of British writing, humour and culture as it is an important part of my show's identity.
