The main character of the book, a rebel Leafwing who is against *most* Hivewings because of Queen Wasp's mind control, oh and also they tried demolishing the whole Leafwing tribe.
(questioning/guessing) "Maybe she thinks 'snudoo' means food."
(annoyed) "No, you nitwit, we're trying to get the the village, not hide from it. Getting there was the whole point. Nobody's going to execute you, not until I tell them to anyway. They need me."
"So does fincé! Super weird!"
Cricket is the friend and accomplice to Blue and Sundew and has recently found out that her sister was ACTUALLY her mother!
"Maybe not this, just to be safe"
"Pretty sure she knows it's you, the hero who provides all the best food."
"I'm Cricket, this is Bumblebee, that's Blue and that's Swordtail."
Blue, the humble Silkwing who has a MASSIVE crush on Cricket helps Sundew uncover the mystery of the evil Hivewing queen's mind control
"But--you--this dragon? I just"
"Oh my goodness."
Lover to Blue's sister, Luna who is currently missing. Swordtail is a brave and courageous Silkwing always ready to save the ones he loves.
"Her What?"
"What is happening right now?"
The baby Cricket saved from the Hivewing's mind control. She literally just makes baby noises.
"SNUDOOOO"
Mandrake is Sundew's quiet and reserved Fiancé, though their marriage is not for love, they have been betrothed.
"Well, future husband sounds weird"
"No, no, thats..Not at all, we're not that, no."
Hawethorn is a lonely Leafwing, living in the heart of the Poison Jungle, with only his wooden carvings for company.
"That is an excellent question."
"It is, not many dragons could do it."
Queen Wasp is a the Hivewing Queen who has the ability to control the other Hivewing's minds. She often speaks through the mouths of other hivewings such as the soldier in the Poison Jungle.
"That little worm Cricket is here isn't she?"
"Oh yes we are."
Sister to Mandrake and absolutely despises Sundew. Wants Sundew and Mandrake's marriage to be called off.
(Growling) "Unless he's faking it."
"Yesss"
The assistant to Sundew's parents, Belladonna and Hemlock. Tries to burn down Bloodworm Hive in the prologue.
"I think it's kind of funny that all the Hives have greenhouses."
Belladonna is Sundew's mother and joint head of the Leafwing tribe
"Hmmm, Very clever Sundew."
Hemlock is Sundew's overprotective father and joint Head of the
"She's busy."
"Excellent. Lets choose locations and plan our timing."
The Sapwing that Sundew is in love with, yet nobody but her knows and Belladonna has forbidden anyone to to talk to, let alone fall in love with one.
"Oh no thank you. I'm afraid we don't have time for tea."
Queen Sequoia is the queen of the Sapwing tribe. She is also Willow'd great great grandmother.
"I am calm, everything is fine."
Hazel is the Queen's great grandchild and is a faithful sidekick to Queen Sequoia's side.
"They're asleep you nut,"
(Whispering) "This could take a minute."
