"Who Wants to Be an Ultimate?" is a non-profit Danganronpa fan project in the form of a playable RPG Maker videogame.
We have currently released a spin-off called "Who Wants to Be an Ultimate? -retake-", available on the itch.io linked below. Our upcoming prologue is fully playable, and is only missing art assets and voice lines to be completed.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to recast the roles of Rie Higashikokubaru and Megumi Takahashi, so we have opened this casting call to do so.

It is most people's dream to become an Ultimate one day. After all, the Ultimate Scouting Organization will set you up for life if you end up earning that title. Some people will fullfill that dream and become Ultimates, while some people will be close to doing so, but be deemed as not good enough right next to the finish line. Those people become Nulltimates, and while they're still extremely talented, it's a title that is often looked down upon by many.
In order to give Nulltimates a second chance, the USO partnered with Monochrome Studios to launch "Who wants to be an Ultimate?", a reality TV show to pit Nulltimates against Ultimates, a battle of the greatest versus the great, to find out if the difference between them is that big, or if they're more similar than people think.
Many Ultimates and Nulltimates auditioned for the show, but ultimately it was 15 of them that found themselves receiving that awaited callback. However, it would end up turning into a nightmare for them, as they would find themselves trapped in Monochrome Studios, forced to play a killing game between Ultimates and Nulltimates aired on national TV.

This project will deal with heavy topics such as violence, death, graphic depictions of gore and other upsetting material, so please be aware of such before auditioning. You must be over the age of 18 in order to audition.
Please submit your takes in the ABCABC format and list the following things In your audition's description:
- Name
- Age
- Equipment
- A form of contact. Discord is preferred.
This is a long-term project that will take a long time to finish, so please keep that in mind before auditioning.
No roles will be cast before the deadline of April 12th.

Rie is polite and pleasant to everyone, whether or not she receives that same treatment back. She’s a bit reserved due to her strict upbringing, but is very eager to broader her horizons by meeting new people.
Her voice is of a medium to medium-high pitch. Her tone should be gentle and warm, yet also very measured.
We can all agree that this is… peculiar, to say the least. (Concerned)

Megumi is a shy girl who struggles to get her voice out due to her stutter. She likes taking things at her own pace, but she’s still extremely organized. She’s also a bit of a crybaby, easily affected by other people’s opinion.
Her voice is of a medium to medium-high pitch. Her tone should be extremely soft and have a stutter.
Feel free to take liberties in regards to the placements of her stutter on her dialogue.
Anyone is welcome to audition for Megumi, but a Black VA would be preferred.
