Whiplash: Not My Tempo Stop Motion Recreation (With a Twist)

Project Overview

This upcoming project is going to be a Lego Stop Motion recreation of the famous "not my tempo" scene from the movie Whiplash featuring none other than Animal from the muppets as Andrew Neiman. A great attempt will be made to recreate as much of the movie as possible such as similar shot composition, lighting, character blocking, camera movement, editing, etc., while also bringing in a few comedic elements of my own that better levels the absurdity of having Animal in a scene as dramatic as this. It will start off with Andrew walking into the room and sitting down at the drum kit as he normally does in the movie. Then, Fletcher is gonna ask Andrew to move over for Animal, meaning that Animal will become Andrew and Andrew will be become the green shirt dude in the movie. After that, the movie will carry out normally where Fletcher keeps correcting Animal repeatedly and displays his anger at him. However, I don't want the viewer to be left on a low note after Fletcher yells at him repeatedly so after he does so, the scene is going to turn into the end of the movie where Animal shows his drumming skills which Fletcher is extremely impressed by, therefore, ending on a high note.

So I'm aware this is a little stupid lmao, but I've always wanted to do a recreation video on my channel as well as post something a bit more comedic so this is what the project will be for. Not to mention, just make something enjoyable to watch at the very least. This project is giving me a bit of nervous excitement because I think it has great potential but it can also go horribly horribly wrong. To make it go okay is hopefully where you come in ;)

As of now, the only two speaking roles are Terence Fletcher and Animal and the Lego designs seen in the images are essentially what I'm going to be using for the project. Despite the differences in mannerisms, the criteria for lines are going to be pretty much the same. Passable microphone quality, at least 3 takes of each line, and sent to me in a relatively quick fashion. There's no doubt that this project will be released way after this is posted but I am very committed to getting this one done. I purchased a whole new macro lens for my DSLR camera in order to get the close up shots required in the movie so I'm goin all out baby.

That's pretty much all I got tho. If you're interested at all, feel free to DM me on CCC or my Discord which is JAyREd56 #5955. I hope to hear from ya but if not, that's alright too. Go make some cool stuff :)

The dude who shouts the most in the movie.

You're not expected to sound exactly like J.K Simmons but I am looking for someone who is versatile with their voice, similar to the actor; convincing when trying to sound encouraging AND when displaying Fletcher's anger and manipulation. Delivery for each line is expected to be strikingly similar to how it is in the movie. So you'll need to yell a bit.

Best Muppet to ever exist.

Just looking for someone who can match the voice and mannerisms of Animal. For the lines I've come up with, Animal does match the energy of Andrew a bit more than his energy in The Muppets, therefore, delivery is a bit more lowkey in comparison.
