What if 4Kids dubbed Hetalia? It would be horrible. Well I mean there'd (probably) be fewer offensive jokes and all that, but with their track record of erasing everything Japanese? What would Hetalia even be LIKE?
We're taking it one step further than that and completely removing all of the countries and replacing them with states in the good ol' US of A! America is the only one who will remain as he was originally intended.
This project is a 4Kids-style fandub/parody of Hetalia. So far we have dubbed the first episode, which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4_C2muj9bA This casting call is for Episode 2, which is the Nyotalia episode from Beautiful World (I Was Overwhelmed by Heroines). This will be the last full episode we will be dubbing, but we are planning on dubbing clips later on. The audition lines are from the very first draft of the script, and will likely change quite a bit by the time everyone is cast. Improv is welcome, as well. If you think a different line would work or that the current line would sound better written differently, feel free to record that line. I just ask that you send a minimum of ONE take with the original wording.
If you are cast, you will have to give me your email and/or skype name. I would prefer if everyone had a skype so you can join the group chat, but it isn't necessary. You will be given full credit and a link to the site/account of your choice will be added to the video description.
Rules for auditioning:
-You MUST have good audio quality!
-Please use Noise Removal or another similar tool/program to remove background noise.
-Be kind and respectful to the other actors. I won't tolerate bullies.
-Please speak with a stereotypical accent for each state. Even if you are from that state, if the state has a stereotypical accent, please use that.
-If you're auditioning for the female version of a character who appeared in episode 1, please try and copy the accent of the original actor. You don't need to sound exactly the same, just similar enough that it's believable that you are the same character, only of a different gender.
