Project Overview
🔪 What is "Welcome to Dubspace"? 🔪
A passion-project fandub of the critically acclaimed indie video game, OMORI, brought to you by a team of people who just really love OMORI, really love to voice-act, and really want to bring this incredible story with its memorable cast of characters to life! We'll be limiting most gameplay elements in our videos to make the series more "cinematic," and to encourage people to play the game themselves if they want to experience all of the extra content that can't make it into the series!
It's also important to note that we're having lots of fun with this fandub, too, so there may be moments of additional, custom dialogue added that are not originally found in the game!
💡 What are we looking for? 💡
Specifically, we're hosting an emergency recast for both the roles of MICHAEL/GIBS and CAPTAIN SPACEBOY'S SINGING VOICE! The original VA for both had to withdraw from the project, so we're in need of a new voice! Is yours the one we're looking for?

Unfortunately not. As stated before, this is a passion-project, meaning that even us directors are just doing this for fun (and also because we really do truly love and believe in OMORI's story). We also love to voice-act and would love to go on to do bigger and better things one day, so our goal is to also help each other learn and grow in a personal capacity, giving lots of valuable opportunities for practice and feedback so we can all hone our vocal talents!
🎹 Requirements 🎹
- We strongly encourage at minimum, recording with a USB mic. While we're by no means professionals (yet), we would like clarity and quality as much as possible. If your audition does not show your best sound treatment, there is a big possibility it will not be considered. Careful sound treatment paired with a clear phone mic could work, but we strongly encourage recording with at least USB mic or better, should you have one. Limit background noises as much as possible.
- Do not SLATE your audition. (In other words, do not state your name in front of your reads.)
- If you would like to record more than one take, please record them in AABBCC format, not ABCABC. Please do not have more than two takes in your audition.
- DO NOT ADD VOICE EFFECTS TO YOUR AUDITION SUCH AS REVERB, ECHO, OR PITCH ALTERATION. General touch-ups for noise removal and clarity is fine and welcome, but ultimately, we want to hear YOUR voice and YOUR voice-acting skills!
- Discord will be our primary method of communication. Because of this, please include your Discord handle in the description box of your audition.
- OMORI deals with very triggering topics. Ports of the game have been rated "M" for a reason. Because of this, we are requiring that all cast members be at least 16+ years old. Thank you!

MICHAEL (also known as GUITAR GUY) is a character in OMORI. He has big aspirations of being a singer and musician one day and is trying to save money to move to the city so he can become a star. He's friendly and ambitious, but also cares deeply about his family. He is the bigger brother of JOY. [some description pulled from OMORI Wiki]
PREVIOUS NOTES: Medium to medium-low. MICHAEL is a musician and singer at heart who dreams of being a star. Sound hopeful and determined. His counterpart, GIBS, is a little sillier. Feel free to have a big more fun with his voice; the most important thing will be to sound a handful of years younger than you do as MICHAEL.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Auditions that offer a bit of differentiation in voices between GIBS and MICHAEL are highly preferred! For vocal quality, focus on being youthful and ambitious, or hopeful. You have stars in your eyes and you're going to make it big some day. Medium-range is still ideal, but we're open to interpretations, too.
