Voices Needed for Ouran Musical Demos (No Singing Required; NO VIC IMPRESSIONISTS NEEDED!)
Project Overview
The Ouran Musical Concept Album is a project my friend and I have been producing for over seven years. We have been steadily releasing demos for the past few months, and now we are hoping to find voice actors to lend their voices for a few short scenes that will go before some of the songs. I plan on updating this audition page frequently with new roles, but for now, I am only casting for a set of students and a bully who share a scene with Haruhi before her big solo, the second song in the show.
This album is based on the anime Ouran High School Host Club. I am not looking for any sound-alike casting - if you happen to sound like a character, great! If not, it will not be a major factor in casting. Further, both classic and original characters will be available for audition. Feel free to take a spin on any character, and especially to have fun.
*Note: this is not final or official casting. This is simply for roles in demo pieces. When the final musical is recorded, we may do private casting. If cast, we will keep you in mind for future roles, but any casting decision here is not final or permanent in the official release.

Tamaki Suoh is one of the main characters of the show and the main love interest of Haruhi. His role as the president and Prince of the Ouran Host Club has earned him the adoration of many female clients, and despite his airheaded and go-lucky attitude, he has a surprising amount of compassion and depth that many of his friends admire (despite their constant teasing.) He is a known flirt and a devoted friend, and his persistence often both antagonizes and acts as the glue that holds the club together. He is excitable and dramatic.
While this role is only currently being cast for one demo, there is potential for the actor to return for multiple demos depending on scheduling. In addition to the above lines, auditionees are encouraged to drop their demo reels at the end!
Note: the actors are not expected or required to sound like the existing English dub. In fact, we encourage diverse auditions and fresh takes on the character as applicable! Please play around with the lines and character while maintaining the existing characteristics.
[After Haruhi has knocked over the vase, Tamaki must make a decision - how to hold her accountable.] There’s a famous saying you may have heard of: when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Since you have no money, you can pay with your body. [Haruhi tries to interject.] No "but’s"! If you want to pay off your debt, you will need to accumulate one hundred customers by the end of the year, no exceptions! Get ready Haruhi Fujoka, because starting today – you are a host!
[Haruhi has hidden in a closet during the thunderstorm. Tamaki is leaning against the other side, responding to her plea "I can get through this by myself."] By yourself? You’ve always been by yourself, huh? You never call us for help even though we’re so close. I get it. I think I understand now. I’m sorry for the way I acted earlier, Haruhi. You grew up without feeling like you could rely on anyone else. But not anymore.
[Flirting with a client in front of a scenic beach view. The line he is responding to: "It’s so beautiful. Tamaki, being alone here with you and looking out at the sea...it’s almost like a dream."] But it’s no dream, my princess, it’s real. Yet if I had it my way, I would be in your dreams every night.

This character is a snobby bully at Ouran Academy. A few key descriptors to keep in mind would be classist and chauvinistic. No need for a deep background or analysis - simply a bully who helps push the plot along for Haruhi's journey. The lines above are not the actual line.

Direction for lines:
Line 1: Cocky, aggressive but playful.
Line 2: First part spoken to a teacher after getting caught bullying. The second part is a threat to Haruhi.
Line 3: Taken from the anime, spoken with force as he pushes Haruhi into a body of water.
What's a commoner like you doing at Ouran, anyway? Decided the grass was green after all?
Alright, I'll let off! Jeez, I didn't even hurt him. If I see you again, you're done.

These characters are the typical rich daddy's girls of Ouran. A few key descriptors to keep in mind would be curious and hopeful with a hint of classism. Many of these girls would technically be reoccurring, but for the purposes of this demo, they will each have one line where they both judge and admire Haruhi. The lines above come from multiple parts within the script, not just this scene!

Direction for lines:
Line 1: Can be interpreted however the actor chooses, but ultimately it's curiosity and pity.
Line 2: A client being wooed by Tamaki. Dreamy.
Line 3: Partially taken from the anime, a threat to Haruhi under the guise of friendliness.
Poor thing, he must be a commoner. He doesn't even have a uniform!

If word got out about this, well...the entire host club would fall to pieces. So, I suggest you go back to where you're from with the rest of the filthy little commoners.
