TTRPG Podcast Mini-series: Verdant Tides

TTRPG Podcast Mini-series: Verdant Tides

Project Overview

Hi all! I want to move towards making TTRPG podcasts. This is a project that will be a test of the speed and workflow that comes along with it.

The game in this case will be a game of The Wildsea called Verdant Tides. You can read more about it here: https://www.myth.works/products/the-wildsea. Right now I do not have a pitch specific to the players who are auditioning since that comes partially as a result of collaborating with the team available.

We will be operating this game over discord, however recording will be done through a local DAW to ensure high quality recordings. Ensure you have a setup capable of being in a discord call while recording high-quality audio.

There is no set schedule as of this moment, we will be determining scheduling with the people that are chosen for the roles. There are too many variables to put out a hard time schedule at this moment. It will be 2-3 recording sessions of 2-3 hours long each.

This will be posted publicly online and may be able to generate some income through ad revenue on Youtube, release streams on Twitch, and potentially a Patreon that is set up (although that is currently not prepared). All profits generated will be split as follows:
- 40% to the GM/Composer (Me)
- 40% to the Audio Engineer / Editor
- 20% split evenly among all players

You will be joining a TTRPG mini-podcast as a player / voice actor! We are playing a game of The Wildsea, a 2-4 session campaign where it will be recorded and then edited into a podcast mini series, episodes most likely 20-30 minutes long.

For your audition, please describe the basics of a character idea that you might have that fits into the world and make sure your voice is recorded with high quality.

Selection Criteria:
- High Quality Sound

- Diverse voice (compared to other VAs)

- If all else equal, quality/engagement of character pitch

You'll be editing the audio of the podcast together. I am a media composer so there will be custom music composed for scenes, so you'll be working closely with me on a back-and-forth basis.

The recordings of each player will need to be matched up, and then edited into a compelling podcast experience. I am personally busy and don't have the time to do a lot of the editing leg-work.

Editor Requirements:
- Capability of working with audio to a high quality output

- Know how to EQ, clean up, and balance audio for podcast

Editor Nice-to-haves:
- Can do sound effects for some capabilities
- Uses Cubase, Ableton, FL Studio, Reaper, Bitwig Studio, or Studio One as a DAW (compatible with what I use)

Any reel you submit will be judged on audio quality, editing, and pacing. If you would also like to join as a player, submit an audition, and if chosen as the engineer you go to the top of the list for who gets chosen as a player.
