Up There, Somewhere
Project Overview
This is a self-produced and written project I am working on. It is a singular scene for now. It could become something more depending on how well this turns out. But like Stella, I have a dream and I want to accomplish it.
While this is currently unpaid, perhaps it could turn into more. Again, depending on the outcome of this. I am a voice actor, but I am wanting to open the door for other voices to shine.
I need a Stella and I need a Milo. Apart from that, I need an animator. I don't have those skills in the slightest. The animation I am looking for can be based on the "reference" image I am using for the "project image." But it doesn't have to be exactly that. It is conceptual for now.

Stella Vale- confident. Kind. Outgoing, stylish, has dreams of pointing everyone in the right direction which is UP. She wants to be a star and shine like the stars in the sky. She is someone aiming high but wants to stay true to who she is and where she is from.

Every night I look at those stars, and it feels like they’re saying my name. Not because I’m special… but because I want to be special. I want the stage, the lights, the standing ovations. I want people to look at me and just for a moment, forget their worries. I want to give hope the way the stars give their light. But stars are far away. Distant. Untouchable. And maybe… maybe I don’t want to be untouchable. Maybe I just want to shine… but I also don't want to lose who I am.
Funny, slightly awkward, always stumbling into comic mishaps. Milo has warmth and vulnerability that pairs well with Stella’s ambition.

Responding to Stella: "Yeah. I think about that. That maybe one day, you’ll be up there in the lights… and I’ll still be down here. The clumsy guy with ketchup stains and a bad sense of direction."
"You know, Stella… I joke around a lot. Chips, nachos, paper airplanes, that’s kind of my thing. But the truth is… when you talk about shining, about being up there, it kinda worries me. Not cuz you can’t do it, because you can. You will. But... what if there’s no place for me in that light? (Pause. He looks down, fiddling his hands) Look, I’m not the star. I’m the guy in the cheap seats, clapping too hard. I’m the one tripping on the curtain rope backstage. That’s who I am. And I worry that one day, you’ll outgrow me."
Your audition can be to animate one of the audition lines for Milo or Stella. Since Stella is a small monologue, the submissions can be segmented. Make sure it’s not less than 20 seconds. This is a singular scene that I am hoping draws the viewer in quickly. A world that is easy to fall into and visuals that stand out and stand apart. This will be a job that will let you flex your creative muscles. I am specifically looking for someone who is skilled but has yet to be considered for a project and wants something for their portfolio. This is a full collaboration where I will provide vision, but remain flexible to artistic choice. Show me what you can do and if selected, I will work out a plan for executing this scene.
