Project Overview
A 3-minute student film about a knowledge-hungry robot,
a black hole, and a rabbit who loves her pet crustacean.
This film follows Jidi, a simple & somewhat apathetic pilot, who is summoned to meet a strange robot known as "The Inquiry", who has spent its existence working to achieve omniscience. The Inquiry is lacking information on only one thing: Jidi's keychain, which she's had for as long as she can remember.
When The Inquiry and Jidi are unable to gain any insight into the keychain's origins, The Inquiry suggests Jidi search a black hole as a last resort. When she hesitates, it uses her beloved pet Garb-Larb as leverage and forces her in.
What Jidi finds inside the black hole unravels both her and The Inquiry's understanding of the world, and pushes The Inquiry from malevolent frustration to desperate insanity. The Inquiry sacrifices its existence in an attempt to gain all knowledge, while Jidi and Garb-Larb, satisfied with their work, prepare for a fun trip to Wacky Wally's Water World.

This robot is weird. Designed to solve the plight of life’s ignorance by accumulating knowledge on everything, The Inquiry is self-serious, intelligent, and off-putting. He evolves from being a source of guidance (a collected, official lecturer) to something of an antagonist through the film (unstable, erratic, confused).
Essentially: Robotic, educational, awkward, sinister.
